Paint update

15/08/08 | by admin [mail] | Categories: General

I dropped the bike off at the painters today.
Managed to get a bit more work done on it before it left.
I’ve ditched the Koso clocks because they started to play up. I think they are cheap crap. I bought another set of Acewell clocks, which I have been using on my RD350LC for 12 months with no issues. Also put some new brake lines on because the other ones did not have moulded fittings. To meet the street regulations in Australia, all brake lines must have moulded fittings.
I also sealed the upper pipes with some copper silicone sealer, so hopefully this will cure the 2 stroke oil leaking down the back of the engine.
so what’s left?

- Tail light and indicators (all ordered)
- Oil level sensor for the oil tank
- Clean up the wiring a bit more
- Registration
- Basic tune of the EFI

Its looking more likely that I will get it done in time for October 5!

Time for Paint!

Friday morning I will be dropping the bike off at the painters.
I will be taking with me a few pics of the 50th Anniversary YZR-M1 from Laguna Seca.
Hopefully, all going well I should have a bike looking something like below in a couple of weeks time!

Pig Spotters

I’ve now got about 2 months before the Phillip Island GP, so I’ve got my work cut out for me.
The biggest issue is getting the bike registered. I need to get lights and indicators sorted.
I’ve got the headlights done, so I need to get something sorted for the rear end to hold the registration plate and lights.
I sourced some mirrors called Pig Spotters which should do the job.

What are my chances of having the bike ready? I’d say its about 50/50 right now.

Long time no update

So its been a while since the last update.
That’s because I haven’t really done much. New house… no time, etc.

Anyhoo, it turns out the original injectors were way too big, so I have sourced some smaller ones.
These new injectors of course required a different fuel feed method, so I have had to make up new fuel rails to suit.

I’ve spent a lot of time and money sorting out the fuel delivery, but now I just need one more fitting and it should be done.
I also attached some heat shield to the top of the subframe to try and reduce the temperature of my arse.

Next on the agenda will be the coolant system. I still need to modify the R6 radiator, and also make up an adapter to fit the chev coolant
sensor.
