Back to the important topic...

05/31/10 | by admin [mail] | Categories: General

Got a little time to work on the car this weekend, but nothing worth taking pics of yet.
I found a couple more small rust spots that were repaired. Side of the dash, and roof gutters were the two parts I needed to do.
I also cleared the engine bay of everything I could to get it ready for cleaning and painting. However, seeing as I’m putting a larger radiator in, the radiator support will need modifying, and this will need to be done before painting. I have ordered the radiator, so I will have another update when it arrives.

The saga continues...

Mr Mustang Forum Administrator has decided to forward our private discussions onto the Mustang Club delegates, no doubt in an attempt to have me banned. Once he puts his slant on events with no defense from me, I’d say I will be locked out

What he will forget to mention is that when financial matters were discussed, the forum rules did not disallow this. The rules were changed AFTER I pointed out this fact.

He will forget to mention that I removed ALL of my comments on the topic that he found threatening. Mind you, this was not at all threatening to the Mustang Club. He obviously didn’t like it because it was discussion of the website costs.

He will forget to mention that when another user brought up the same subject, I told them to get the information from somewhere other than the forum.

As I have mentioned to Mr Mustang Forum Administrator, it is the Mustang Forums loss if I’m removed. You only have to read the replies to my project thread to see that. I’ve met some nice people from the forum who have helped me, but I have also given back a lot more.

It is a shame that one person can ruin a great resource.

Mustang Forum Censorship

28/05/10 | by admin [mail] | Categories: General

For the second time now, I have had a private message from the Mustang Forum Administrator asking me not to discuss issues relating to the website service, and both times suggesting I should join the Mustang Club if I want to discuss it.
This Administrator is not a member of the Mustang Club, and is PAID by the members to run the website.
He has removed posts and locked a thread so that this discussion can not happen. My response to him may get me banned considering the dictatorship already shown. I had already removed my comments on the issue, and simply directed a user to view the Clubs financial reports if they wanted to find out any information. In other words, I was directing the user AWAY from the forums.

To me, all this suggests is that this administrator would prefer that we do not know the costs involved to the club. I have no doubt that the website could be hosted cheaper elsewhere, and I have previously stated this to him, but they may well offer the Club an exceptional service that makes their fees worth every penny.

Unfortunately, by shutting down the discussion, people are left with a conclusion - perhaps a false conclusion - that he has something to hide.

Contrary to the Administrators messages to me, I don’t see anything in the forum rules relating to the discussion of public financial information.

Front seats

17/05/10 | by admin [mail] | Categories: General

Picked up my $180 seats tonight. They are not perfect, but should be great once I have them trimmed to suit the rest of the interior. Not sure what I will do with the mounts yet. After a quick look, I’m thinking I’ll cut the original mounts off the rails and weld plates in to suit the original mustang mounts.
One of the seats is electric, so I also need to check if the motorised part can be moved to the other seat.

Also my bonnet scoop and side scoops arrived.
I only attached this one quickly, but it seems to want to sit inside the mould in the guard as per the next pics.

POR-15 Roof and Trunk

16/05/10 | by admin [mail] | Categories: General

Long time no update!
Haven’t had much time lately to do very much.

Today I painted the inner roof and trunk with POR-15 before eventually putting dynamat in.
I’ve also run the brake line from front to rear.
