Yamaha RD250LC RGV Conversion
By Jeff Mills

This page aims to be a helping hand for owners of RD250/350LC's to put RGV front and rear ends on their LC's.
This page is an informational page. There has been no effort put into making it look pretty.

There are a number of things to consider when doing this conversion, and each person may have different ideas as to the best way of doing things. In the end, the best way is the way that works for you, and the way that you feel confident. After all, its you who is going to be riding and enjoying this new beast.
I must also say this - If you are a person who has no "hands-on" skills...
Cant use power tools etc, then dont bother trying this conversion.

Some of the tools I have used:
  • Pistol Drill
  • Drill Press
  • Angle Grinder
  • Bench Grinder
  • Hacksaw
  • Files
  • Lathe - For making spacers etc - You can have them made.

  • They are probably the major tools you might require. You dont NEED a lathe
if you can get somebody else to make up the spacers/bushes for you.

There are a number of benefits in doing this conversion, including better brakes and handling as well as good looks.
I will be posting alot of pictures to make things easy to understand where possible. The RGV that I used was a 1988 model without the USD forks and the normal box aluminium swingarm, not the banana swingarm.
    Feedback is always welcome!
If you are attempting this conversion, and you need more information, dont hesitate to ask! If you need more pictures taken to help I can do that too.
